Derrek "DJ Royal" Padilla

 Derrek found his love for music at a very young age. Whether it was rapping in middle school talent shows or making mixtapes over cassette tapes his mom owned, Derrek was hooked on music.   

In the late 90's Derrek met up with Lary Summerville Jr and the rest of INI Entertainment and started DJing all age club events at The Sunshine Theatre, better known as the zone night club back then. As the group grew older the team went their own ways.  That’s when Derrek found himself headlining at clubs such as One Up, The Library, Reluxe, and many others.   

Derrek has DJ'd for artists such as Boy Dirrt, J-Cole, DJ Unk, Two Chainz, Colbie Caillat, French Montana, Lil Rob, Brown Boy, and many others.   

In 2009, Derrek was asked to DJ his first private event. Soon after, Derrek was primarily a private events DJ which was the start of Royal Promotions ABQ.  In 2017, Derrek decided to turn his entire focus to weddings, creating Royal Elegance Entertainment. His vision was to bring an elegant boutique style company to The Land of Enchantment with real DJ's. Derrek has established himself as one of the premier wedding DJ's in the southwest.
